An Introduction to Research Training and Research Visit Opportunities
The ECHP is quite a complex dataset to analyse, even for experienced researchers and even in the more user-friendly User Database (UDB) format. The EPUNet Project involves organising research Research Training Sessions aimed towards beginning and advanced ECHP users.

The Research Training Sessions are intended to serve two purposes:

  • Familiarise new users with the use of the ECHP data for longitudinal analysis
  • Provide more advanced users with instruction in analytical techniques for panel analysis

The sessions for new users are intended for researchers with some experience in data analysis but who are new to the ECHP. Sessions for advanced users are intended for researchers with some experience in analysing the ECHP who would like to develop their skills in the area of advanced panel analysis.

Both types of course will emphasise issues specific to the ECHP in terms of content, data structure etc. A limited subset of the actual ECHP UDB dataset will be used in Research Training Sessions.

  • Each session will last 5 days
  • Number of participants will be limited to 10 per course.
  • Some funding is available to cover travel and subsistence of trainees.
  • Next course is planned for 21-25 November 2005 Advanced Panel Analysis at CEPS, in Differdange, Luxembourg. Applications are now being accepted.
  • Materials from previous courses
